The NCWorks Career Centers across the region continue to serve as vital hubs for workforce development, and recent efforts demonstrate their expanding impact. With strong leadership and coordination from the Centralina Workforce Development Board (WDB), two exciting updates showcase how NCWorks is evolving to better serve jobseekers, employers and community partners.
Iredell Career Center Moves to Downtown Statesville
Thanks to the Centralina WDB’s strategic guidance, the NCWorks Career Center-Iredell is relocating to a new home in downtown Statesville. Beginning August 18, the center will operate from 307 North Center Street, making services more accessible and visible to the community. This move positions NCWorks to better connect talent with opportunity in Iredell County.
“This relocation reflects our commitment to meeting the needs of both career seekers and local employers in a more convenient and welcoming space,” said David Hollars, Director of the Centralina Workforce Development Board. “We want to ensure all communities in our region have access to top-tier career services.”
Centralina WDB played a leading role in supporting this transition, helping to ensure that the new location aligns with regional workforce goals and continues to provide the same high-quality services, from job search assistance and résumé support to employer engagement and labor market information.
Mooresville Center Builds Relationships with Educators
In another example of community engagement, the NCWorks Career Center in Mooresville, under the guidance of Centralina WDB, participated in the Mooresville Graded School District’s Teacher Resource Day on July 28. NCWorks staff connected with 80 newly hired teachers to share how career centers can support not only jobseekers, but also students preparing for future careers.
This event highlighted the value of local partnerships in extending the reach of workforce resources. By equipping educators with knowledge about NCWorks programs, the Centralina WDB is helping build a stronger pipeline from classroom to career: a key strategy in supporting long-term economic mobility across the region.
Driving Regional Workforce Success
From modernizing facilities to forging stronger partnerships with schools, Centralina Workforce Development Board continues to play a critical role in ensuring NCWorks Career Centers remain responsive, innovative and accessible. These initiatives are part of Centralina WDB’s broader mission to create a resilient and inclusive workforce across its nine-county service area.
