Centralina EDD Disaster Relief Coordinator Grant

In March 2020, the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded the Centralina Economic Development District (EDD) the Centralina Disaster Relief Coordinator Grant under the Federal H.R.2157 Additional Supplemental Appropriations for Disaster Relief Act, 2019. The grant award seeks to support the Centralina EDD’s regional emergency management system. Specifically, the project will provide local assessment of viability of existing emergency management plans and develop a regional emergency management strategy that includes evaluating the creation of a permanent regional disaster management roundtable. The grant project will also assess COVID-19 disruption impacts on disaster response emergency planning and has an estimated completion date of early 2022.

Beginning in Q1 2021, we will engage emergency management consultants to assist with the Centralina Disaster Relief Coordinator Grant. The grant will facilitate support for increasing capacity and coordinating inter-local resources to enhance disaster response systems and economic resilience. The Centralina EDD recently released a request for qualifications for securing an emergency management consultant to assist with the EDA grant and the development of the emergency management roundtable.
