Coming Soon: 2025 CLT Aviation Academy

Each year, the CLT Aviation Academy gives participants a one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore the inner workings of Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Through a series of weekly interactive sessions, the Academy takes participants on a behind-the-scenes journey of various aspects of CLT’s operations and planning efforts.

As in previous years, the 2025 class schedule will feature informative presentations from CLT staff, live demonstrations and tours of airport facilities. By the end of the Academy, participants will have gained a greater understanding of CLT’s regional economic impact as a general aviation services provider, major employer and a commercial and logistics hub.

The CLT Aviation Academy is open to leaders in the public and private sectors, as well as community members from across the Centralina region. The class is limited to 35 participants who will be selected through a competitive application process.

When a construction or repair contract over $300,000 involves a building, the procurement and contract are subject to additional requirements under N.C.G.S. 143-128. Therefore, this question must be answered to determine whether the additional statutory requirements apply to this procurement scenario.

The micro-purchase threshold is a federal procurement threshold under which competitive procurement is not required. The default micro-purchase threshold is $15,000, but local governments may increase the micro-purchase threshold up to $50,000. An explanation of increasing the micro-purchase threshold and a template for the required annual self-certification is available here.
