Community Development Block Grant – Mecklenburg Public Meeting

Mecklenburg County would like your participation in the preparation of the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and 2025-2026 Annual Action Plan (AAP). The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires these plans in order for Mecklenburg County to receive federal assistance to address housing, economic development and community development issues. Join the county on February 13 to learn more about how these funds may be utilized in the community via the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and offer suggestions for new programs or projects. For the Federal Fiscal Year 2025 (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026), Mecklenburg County anticipates receiving approximately $1,000,000 from HUD for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. These funds are part of the 2025-2026 AAP.

When a construction or repair contract over $300,000 involves a building, the procurement and contract are subject to additional requirements under N.C.G.S. 143-128. The micro-purchase threshold is a federal procurement threshold under which competitive procurement is not required. The default micro-purchase threshold is $15,000, but local governments may increase the micro-purchase threshold up to $50,000.
