The Senior Nutrition Program Celebrates 50 Years
Fifty years ago, on March 22, 1972, the Older Americans Act was amended to include the Senior Nutrition Program, a nationwide community-based service that includes congregate and home-delivered meal options. The Senior Nutrition Program in NC has been successfully providing access to healthy meals, nutrition screening, nutrition education, socialization and other supports to allow adults ages 60 and over to stay in their homes and communities longer.

September was National Preparedness Month, the perfect time for Centralina Community Economic Development (CED) staff to travel to Anson County to collaborate on pre-disaster recovery planning. Electric Vehicles: Regional Infrastructure Planning
Does Our Region Have an EV Infrastructure Plan? There is a flood of transportation-related funding coming to North Carolina thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). To assist our member communities, Centralina is developing resources that support planning and funding activities on a regional level. We are also working with the NCDOT to update state EV plans, such as the 2019 zero-emission vehicle plan, as mandated under the federal BIL and NC Executive Order 246.
