NCOA (National Council on Aging) – Falls Prevention Awareness Day, September 22, 2016

The 9th annual Falls Prevention Awareness Day (FPAD) will be observed on September 22, 2016—the first day of fall. The event raises awareness about how to prevent fall-related injuries among older adults.

Since Falls Prevention Awareness Day was first observed in 2008, we have grown participation in the event from 11 states to 48 states and the District of Columbia in 2014. Next year, we hope to expand our reach even further!

The 8th annual Falls Prevention Awareness Day (FPAD) was observed on September 23, 2015—the first day of fall. The theme was Take a Stand to Prevent Falls and the official social media hashtag was #FPAD15.
